Jay Mel Officially Releases Single “Live It Up”

(New York, NY- Jan. 25, 2012) – Hot off the heels of the attention grabbing videos (“You Know,” “All I Need,” and “I’m Good”), Jay Mel officially releases his single, “Live It Up.” The Ohio native is also kicking off his Live It Up campaign today with the title song being available for free download on Jaymel.com for a limited time only. The anticipated video is scheduled to follow next week. The campaign also promises to inspire, offer contests, free music, new videos, live performances and more.
The single “Live It Up” is a synth driven, infectious grove that is sure to be a certified club banger. Further propelled by Jay Mel’s playful lyrics, the song encourages you to go for yours. The rapper describes it as “something people can get into and feel that they’re a part of. Once the music starts, it’ll keep you going.” Like “Live it Up,” Jay Mel’s other tracks boast genre bending tracks and lyrics. “I’d love for people to be able to listen to a song of mine and pull something from it that applies to their own lives. It’s not about being hip-hop or pop continues Jay Mel.

Jay Mel will be hitting the road with promotional performances and appearance events. Next week he will perform at the Frostbite 5K run for Autism in Pittsburgh, PA on January 28. For more information about the run you can visit the website at http://www.valleylink1.com/frostbite5k.

Jay Mel got his start when Ohio’s local radio station, Jamz 101.9, held a contest for “Best Local Rapper.” Jay submitted a blazing cut called “Envy” and won by a landslide. As his prize for winning, the station flew him to New York for a meeting with Island Def Jam. Unfortunately it was during the time of major executive changes, but it was that meeting that inspired the creation of his first official mixtape Who is Jay Mel. The mixtape caught a flurry of attention because of it’s fresh and fiery sound. It was hip-hop and was equally pop—it is simply Jay Mel.
